Welcome to spring and the spring edition of the WARN newsletter. The weather has been beautiful and enjoyable. I hope that you are able to take advantage of all that spring has to offer.
I need to inform all of you that Amy Schott, the current president has chosen to step down form that role. The WARN board of directors has asked me to step in and complete her term. I would like to thank Amy for her contributions to the organization.
The annual all day educational conference was held on April 19th. The speakers were excellent, the facility—Chula Vista—was a wonderful location, and the time we all had to share rehab updates with each other was amazing. Thank you to the board for planning another excellent conference, to all who attended, to all the speakers and to the vendors for making this one of the best conferences we have presented.
The program co-chairs have several half day conference sites lined up for August and November as well as the annual all-day conference for 2011. Keep checking back on the website for updated information.
Speaking of the website, WARN has gone paperless. The website is now the location of the quarterly newsletter, open board positions and bios of candidates for the board, balloting for the board election, the secretary-treasurer’s report, legislative updates, conference information and links to ARN and other rehabilitation websites.
Have a great summer! Hope to see many of you at the August meeting and program.
